Well, I am regrouping and I am going to give it another shot. I am going to try and get myself back on track for my original goal of paying down my debt. However, I also want to get myself back on track for other areas in my life that I have to set some goals. One of which is my weight. I recently went to the doctor and was told that my blood work is showing that I am not very healthy and if I do not do something, I will start down the road to diabetes. I do not want to go that road, my mother was diabetic, my ex-husband was a diabetic and if I have the control to prevent this I should take control.
I am very good at starting things; budgets, diets, crafts or friendships. What I struggle with is the follow through. I have decided to make some very small, short-termed goals to get me to my final long-term goal. So, here is a list of my short-term goals:
1. Go to gym 4 times in the next 7 days.
2. Spend no more than $20.00 on food in the next 7 days. Only buy to supplement what I have in the house.
3. Do not eat out over the next 7 days. This includes breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I want to accomplish these goals, which are a good start to my overall goals for saving and weight loss. I know in my head that in order to accomplish a large goal, one must break it down in small steps. So, I am going to focus on week by week for now and see if I can then extend those into monthly goals at a later date.
For anyone that has made a goal and not followed through, this is for you. Nothing changes unless you take action, so here is me taking action. I have tried everything else, what do I have to loose.
You can do it!!
